Life can present challenges that are difficult, painful, overwhelming and confusing. My practice seeks to help individuals and couples find solutions, meaning, direction, healing, balance, and clarity in their relationships, personal and professional lives.
My practice expertise includes grief and loss, divorce, self-esteem, effective communication, childhood and adult trauma, coping skills, life transitions, relationship conflicts, spirituality, religious abuse, abandonment, anger, men’s issues, veterans, work conflicts, and AL-Anon/ACA. I have an extensive background in corporate and executive settings which enables me to work well with clients who are facing career and work challenges.
I use a mindfulness oriented integrative approach in my counseling practice, which means that I integrate mindfulness, or the awareness of thoughts, feelings, situations, emotions and surroundings when working with individuals and couples. I also draw from various counseling models that have proven effectiveness in helping individuals and couples bring about the changes that they are looking for.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and National Certified Counselor (NCC). I specialize in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and am also certified in Yoga, and Yoga Mindfulness Therapy. My practice includes collaboration with outside specialties that provide appropriate and necessary medication consultation and treatment, in addition to traditional and naturopathic physician services.
The initial step to reach out to a counselor is often the most difficult. I encourage you to take this step, it is often one of the most loving ways we can help ourselves.
